From the Executive Director

We find ourselves at a critical juncture for housing policy in Nevada. The legislative session is officially underway, and the Nevada Housing Coalition is actively reviewing nearly 40 housing bill drafts with more expected to come. These bills will shape the future of housing affordability, attainability, and development across our state, and your involvement is essential.
Each of you brings valuable expertise and lived experience to the table. You understand the needs of your communities better than anyone, and we need your voice to help assess how these proposed policies will impact your district or jurisdiction. Your input will guide our advocacy efforts, ensuring that lawmakers understand the real-world implications of their decisions.
|
At the federal level, we are facing significant uncertainty. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is undergoing major funding shifts that could have widespread consequences for housing programs across Nevada. These potential changes threaten the stability of critical housing resources, making it more important than ever for us to stay informed and proactive.
This is where you come in. The Coalition will be closely monitoring these developments and reaching out for your support in engaging with our federal delegation. When you see our emails, we urge you to open them, take action, and help us amplify the message that affordable housing is a priority that cannot be overlooked.
The Nevada Housing Coalition was built on the principle of collective advocacy. We are here to ensure that affordable housing remains at the forefront of policy conversations, but we cannot do it alone. Now is the time to rally together, share our insights, and make our voices heard.
Thank you for your continued dedication to this work. We look forward to standing with you in the fight for stronger housing policies in Nevada.
