The next generation of Opportunity Zones is taking shape, and the decisions made in the coming months could influence where private investment flows across Nevada for the next decade.

The original Opportunity Zone program directed more than $100 billion in private capital into designated communities nationwide. As Congress and federal policymakers advance Opportunity Zone 2.0, states will once again have the opportunity to identify and recommend census tracts for designation, creating new opportunities for community development, housing, economic growth, and neighborhood revitalization.

For Nevada, this presents an important opportunity for local leaders, housing professionals, economic development organizations, local governments, nonprofits, and community stakeholders to better understand how the program works and how communities can position themselves to benefit from future investment.
